Acupuncture for Parkinson's: Treating Parkinson's Disease with Acupuncture

Melissa A. Osmun, MSOM, L.Ac. NCCAOM Certified Dipl. O.M.

Melissa Osmun received her Master's Degree in Oriental medicine from Southwest Acupuncture College. She is a licensed acupuncturist (L.Ac.) in the State of Colorado. Prior to her training in Oriental medicine, Melissa earned her B.S. in Exercise & Sport Science/Sports Medicine from Colorado State University.

In January of 2000, Melissa's father was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. Over the next four years, Melissa learned about the PD recovery program and with her respected teachers administered treatments to her father. Richard's diagnosis was reneged in 2004 and he continues to be healthy and symptom free to this day.

Melissa believes that the body was designed to heal itself if given the opportunity, and that a good physician must work in concert with that potential. "Practicing compassionate medicine" is Melissa's motto, and she seeks to treat each patient with dignity and respect.
